6 of the 10 pres’l paris SOCE file

MANILA – Six of the presidential candidates in the May 9 election, including President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., have already submitted their respective Statements of Contributions and Expenses (SOCEs).

On Wednesday afternoon, the deadline for the month-long filing period, former Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso was the latest presidential candidate to file his SOCE.

Other contenders who have already submitted their SOCEs were Senator Panfilo Lacson, Dr. Jose Montemayor, Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Other presidential candidates who have yet to file their SOCEs include labor leader Leody de Guzman, businessman Faisal Mangondato, former presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella and former national security adviser Norberto Gonzales.

On the other hand, the vice presidential candidates who have so far filed their SOCE are Dr. Willie Ong, Lito Atienza, Senate President Tito Sotto, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Walden Bello and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte.

Based on her SOCE, the presidential daughter spent all the campaign contributions she received which amounted to PHP 216.19 million.

In-kind contributions of PHP 136.6 million came from his political party, Lakas Christian Muslims Democrats, while an additional PHP 79.58 million of in-kind donations came from other sources.

By law, presidential and vice-presidential candidates can spend PHP 10 per registered voter, while other candidates are allowed to spend PHP 3 per registered voter.

Independent candidates are allowed to spend PHP 5 for each registered voter during the campaign.

Meanwhile, the winning senatorial candidates who filed their SOCEs are Loren Legarda, Sherwin Gatchalian, Chiz Escudero, Mark Villar, Alan Peter Cayetano, Jinggoy Estrada and Robin Padilla. (NAP)
