The digital age has brought us many new technological advancements – music streams instead of CDs, the many capabilities of an iPhone and the recent introduction of Facebook’s AR/VR adventure with Meta are just some solid examples.

Another reason we also gave thanks to the digital age is for introducing us to the online lodge booking app known as Airbnb, which makes traveling on the go a very rewarding experience compared to staying at the usual hotel or crashing on the couch of a loved one.

Sadly, a couple are ready to give their most recent Airbnb experience a negative star after discovering the host placed a hidden camera in the bedroom and likely recorded them having sex.

The situation is apparently not new according to a graphic seen above posted on social media last month, which gives useful tips on how to check if your Airbnb has a hidden camera. Couple Kayla DeCristofaro and Ian Kelly reportedly rented a property in Maine from a man named Peter Madden last September, later finding out he had been charged with seven counts of breaching privacy by means of a recording device.

More details on their rental from hell below, via TMZ:

“The couple claim they had no knowledge of it at the time… not suspecting anything was wrong and carrying on with their stay as normal – including keeping busy in the bedroom, among other times intimates at which they stripped naked and/or had private convos.

Welp, about a month later…DeCristofaro and Kelly allege they were contacted by local police, who they say informed them that Madden had a hidden camera in a clock radio in the bedroom…with a full view of the bed, and that was apparently filming.”

As one would expect at this point in the story, Kayla and Ian confirmed that they had received no notice from Madden or Airbnb about the cameras being in place during their stay. The lawsuit lists invasion of privacy and emotional distress as charges.
