Developed by EA Mobile and Firemonkeys Studios, The Sims FreePlay is a free version of The Sims. It was released on iOS in December 2011, followed by the Android version in February 2012.
The Sims FreePlay allows players to create and customize up to 34 Sims and build their homes. It also offers several quests as well as optional missions.
Over the years, the game has had over 500,000 downloads and net income of around $600,000 worldwide.
But as is the case with recent games, gamers run into technical issues from time to time. That said, The Sims FreePlay players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5) Facebook login is not working.
Many say they get “Application not configured: The application is still in development mode and you do not have access to it”. Switch to a registered user or ask an app admin for the permissions error message.
Players say they have tried generic solutions such as re-launching the app, restarting their devices, and reinstalling the game, but nothing seems to help them. You can see in the image below what the error message looks like.
Below are some reports of The Sims FreePlay players who are unable to login to their profile through Facebook.

I was logged out of facebook and can’t log in again. When I click connect with facebook I get a strange message in the fb window saying “Application not configured: The application is being configured and you are not authorized to access it. Switch to another test user or request access from an app admin.” Before I even had the chance to enter the login credentials for my fb account. I was logged into Facebook earlier today and I didn’t have no idea why I was logged out or why I can no longer access the login window.

Fortunately, The Sims FreePlay developers commented on the issue and said they are working on a fix for the Facebook login issue.
In the meantime, those affected are advised to upload their save to the cloud by logging into Google Play Games or Apple Game Center.
