Several users reported the same thing on Twitter, confirming that Instagram was not working for them. This is not the first time such a failure has occurred in recent months.
According to the real-time problem and outage monitoring website DownDetector, Instagram was down with multiple reports. Users from different parts of India reportedly started experiencing issues around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, and the outage lasted until around 12:45 p.m. Reports have come in from all cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai and Bangalore among others.
While some users faced issues with Instagram feed refreshing, others simply couldn’t log into the app.
It is important to note that the app did not crash for all Instagram users like some previous crashes. Unaffected users were able to log into their accounts and use all aspects of the platform, including updating their feeds and opening new profiles.
We can confirm the same as we were able to use the platform throughout the outage and were able to post Instagram stories and scroll through the feed on the platform.
As of now, Instagram has yet to acknowledge the issue and there is no official statement about it. We will have to wait a little longer to find out more about the reason for the outage.
As a reminder, Instagram has faced several similar outages over the past few months, including one that took place last month on April 19. which lasted a few hours. Users had taken to Twitter to report the issue, and soon the app started working again for everyone. Similar to the outage that occurred today, the April 19 outage did not affect all users.
